Debu

The ALONZA are a species of half-carbon based creatures who travel the galaxy to enrich life on their home world. They chose Champions for just this purpose who wander the universe for task such as: retrieving the sacred root for the Branching Celebration. DEBU is one of these ALONZA Champions, chosen as a sardonic joke due to his clumsy and ridiculous nature. He travels across space on his own, half the fighter and half the navigator of any REAL ALOZNA Champion.
The initial ALONZA design was just a frog with translucent flesh.To reach a more alien creature, additions were made including a sentient tongue and a long tail containing a third eye. Not uncanny enough, the design was pushed, rounding the head and providing an insect-like antennae. The Alonza took a confident shape with armor and tools to display their technological prowess. Colors were studied and a final design was reached, but it did not become the standard ALONZA body-shape. Instead, a character, DEBU, emerged in its frumpy and lovable form and the question surfaced: What might a true ALONZA Champion look like? A design for another time.
